Christa
L. Pontani, CRNP has been with the Center for Orthopaedics
and Sports Medicine (COSM) since 1995. Ms. Pontani has
practiced as a registered nurse at COSM until becoming
a nurse practitioner in 2000. Ms. Pontani received board
certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center in 2000.
Ms.
Pontani earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana
University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA, in 1995. Upon
completion of her undergraduate work, she received the
Humanitarian Nurse Award, which was given by White Township
Lions Club. In 2000, Ms. Pontani graduated from Duquesne
University, Pittsburgh, PA, with a Master of Science in
Nursing. She successfully completed the Nurse Practitioner
track.
In
1995, until joining COSM, she provided nursing care to
pediatric and adult medical and surgical patients at Elk
County Regional Medical Center, Ridgway, PA.
After
joining COSM, she became certified as an orthopaedic nurse
by the Orthopaedic Nurses Certification Board. She is
an active member of the National Association of Orthopaedic
Nurses. Ms. Pontani enjoys all aspects of orthopaedics,
but has a special interest in sports medicine.
Ms.
Pontani is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners,
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing,
and Alpha Tau Delta National Fraternity of Professional
Nurses.
