Workers' Compensation Services

We provide comprehensive services for the evaluation and treatment of patients who have been injured on the job. We are committed to providing the highest quality care so that the injured individual may return to work as soon as medically possible.

Our services include x-rays, bracing, splinting, casting, injections, physiatry, pain management, surgical repair of tendons, ligaments and fractures. Our rehabilitation staff provides a full range of physical & occupational therapy services, hand therapy and functional capacity evaluations.

Following the initial evaluation and injury treatment, the injured worker is scheduled for regular follow-up office visits so that the injury status and treatment program can be updated.

Service highlights:

• Appointments for initial injury evaluations in most cases can occur the same day with a Physician Assistant. These non-physician practitioners review all cases with COSM physicians.
• Upon request, we participate as a panel provider on Pennsylvania employer workers’ compensation panels as orthopaedic specialists. We will work with other panel providers to coordinate care of the injured worker. Employer’s who seek to include COSM on a panel, should contact us by phone at 724.465.2676.

• We will provide patient visit information to case managers and employers on our Workers’ Compensation Visit Information Form. This form is completed on each patient following each office visit. This information can be released only if the patient has given proper authorization. We are unable to complete employer specific forms. We encourage employers to provide us with job descriptions that include information pertaining to the physical requirements of the injured employee’s current job.

• Medical information regarding patient visits will automatically accompany the billing statement when mailed to the insurance carrier.

• We view the case managers as an important member in the workers’ compensation process. Case managers can attend patient appointments with written consent from the patient. Please reference the Forms/Info tab on this website for further information for case managers.
